Chris Hope Foundation Launches the Therapeutic Arts & Tech Empowerment Program for Families

The Chris Hope Foundation Therapeutic Arts & Tech Empowerment Program is a comprehensive initiative designed to provide children and youth with access to art supplies, craft materials, and technology resources to support therapy and rehabilitation.

Through this program, participants will engage in creative activities such as painting, drawing, sculpting, and creating digital media, which can promote emotional expression, cognitive development, and physical rehabilitation. The initiative aims to empower young individuals who are facing challenges such as chronic illness, trauma, or disabilities by offering them a supportive and stimulating environment where they can explore their creativity, build confidence, and foster a sense of accomplishment.

How does this program make an impact?

  • iPads assist children with brain trauma through interactive rehabilitation tools, educational resources, and apps targeting cognitive skills like memory, attention, and problem-solving. Their accessibility features also make them valuable tools for therapy and academic support.

  • The Ohmni robot assists hospitalized kids by allowing them to participate in their daily activities virtually. It enables them to interact with their peers, family, and teachers remotely, reducing feelings of isolation and loneliness.

  • Virtual reality goggles offer distraction therapy, pain management, anxiety reduction, education, and social connection for children with chronic illnesses, such as sickle cell disease, leukemia, and others.

  • Arts and crafts supplies are essential for child life specialists in children’s hospitals as they offer therapeutic expression, distraction, skill development, social interaction, and empowerment for hospitalized children.

To address these needs, the Chris Hope Foundation will provide comprehensive arts and technology interventions. Participants will engage in therapeutic art activities and have access to technology resources including computers, tablets, and software for educational and recreational purposes.
