Chris Hope Foundation Named Community Changer, Receives $1,000 Donation

The Chris Hope Foundation (CHF), a nonprofit organization providing financial and social support services to families of children diagnosed with pediatric cancer and other childhood illnesses, today announced it was selected as a WREG News Channel 3 Community Changer. An anonymous donor also presented CHF with a $1,000 donation in support of its mission.

The WREG News Channel 3 Community Changers series highlights local organizations making Memphis better. And the same day, an anonymous donor, via WREG, chose to support CHF based on the nonprofit’s commitment to supporting families facing financial challenges as a result of life-threatening pediatric illnesses.

“Our work is fundamentally centered on spreading hope to families facing life-altering circumstances,” said CHF Founder and CEO Chris Hope. “Many parents and children travel long distances to Memphis to visit our award-winning pediatric healthcare facilities. However, financial gaps arise quickly when regular income is disrupted. That’s where we step in, thanks to our amazing donors.”

The donated funds will be used to meet the needs of families facing financial burdens because of childhood cancer treatment-related disruptions. This ranges from making a child’s birthday by delivering their dream gift, powering a college education, easing the burden of medical bills, or covering other expenses related to a cancer diagnosis.

“We are truly honored to do this work, and to continue expanding our mission and services to more families, due in large part to the support of our generous community,” said Hope.
