I had an amazing time joining another family who wanted to see a Memphis Grizzlies game during their time in Memphis for treatment!
And, I can’t thank our ticket donor — Southern Asset Management — enough. When our donors think of the Chris Hope Foundation for their extra game tickets, it ALWAYS brings a smile to the face of child who is going through a rough time, and it helps parents de-stress, too.

I joined this family from Louisiana at the November 9th Grizzlies game against the Dallas Mavericks. Mom and auntie got to go to the game along with this tough young lady who is fighting cancer.
The day started with a round of treatment at the hospital for our brave patient. She was feeling pretty down and tired as a result. Inside FedExForum, with the excitement all around her, she began to feel like herself again — like a kid enjoying a basketball game with people who care about her.
Her auntie told me that the photo she took with me (top) was the first time she smiled all day. This is why we do what we do! We need to bring more smiles to kids and bring them a feeling of hope for their better days ahead. I am truly grateful to experience the game with this family and that I got to see this strong young lady be able to just be a kid again.
